People of the MTC

The MTC exceeded our expectations.  The history, the spirit, the learning, the people. We will be forever grateful to have had the chance to experience it.  Since we will be printing a book from this blog at the end of our mission, here are pictures of some of the people we came to love and the things we were able to experience.

Elder and Sister Hansen, our Gilbert Arizona Tuesday First Shift friends.  So fun to serve at the MTC with them.  They are now in New Zealand and this is their third mission, I believe.

The Fishers now in Indianapolis, Indiana.  We laughed and learned a lot with them.

The Houstons.  Such sweet and consecrated servants.  They are now in Denver, Colorado

The McCalls.  We grew quickly to love their kind, gentle and genuine ways.  Now serving in Denmark.

Elder and Sister Daugherty.  We randomly were assigned to plan a lesson and teach them a gospel principle and they us.  We spent a lot of time together all over the MTC.  We love the Daughertys!  They are now serving in Boise, Idaho.

There were thousands of staff members, leaders, teachers, young Elders and Sisters (we heard there were a bit more sisters than Elders in the MTC when we were there).  I can't believe that we didn't take a picture of the cafeteria.  Talking about a well-oiled machine.  I can't believe we didn't get a picture with two of our young Arizona fellow Temple workers who were passing through as well.  Sister Natalie Heywood and Elder Hunter Kerby (from our home ward as well).  She left before we got one and when we waited for Elder Kerby our last day there, found out he was actually sick and in "quarantine."

Mary, one of the cafeteria works that warmed our hearts.
Don't know these Elders names, but we kept seeing them and their countenances shone and Elder Gibbons randomly stopped them one day and asked to take a picture with them.

Elder and Sister Nigh.  She was an outgoing, happy heart from the very beginning.  We learned she had some health concerns going on and so we told her every time we see her, we were going to give her a hug... and we did!  They are now in Burmingham, Alabama (the same mission Elder Kerby from our home ward is serving in now.)
