On the Road... Again

We love road trips!  We planned to stay in three cities along the way and drive four days.  Nope.  Not us.  We were sleeping in a hotel in Lansing, Michigan on the evening of the third day.  Elder Gibbons was the driver all the way and I was the navigator, hotel finder and entertainment.  Well maybe.  We left the MTC on Friday, February 23rd at noon and met Elder Gibbons' sister Chris for lunch.  She had a gift to give us (can you say electric blanket?)  We were officially on the road at 1 PM.  Just for the sake of having a record we will share...

Can I just say, the Lord truly blessed us with perfect road conditions and weather.

First stop, Rawlins, Wyoming. We got in just after the sun went down.  Windy and cold, but happy to be there.

This picture is just outside of Park City, Utah

Elder Gibbons has experienced Wyoming roads before.  Not me.  We knew, however, that the drive across Wyoming could be brutal on a good day due to wind.  When we left Rawlins there were road warnings, but we forged ahead and are happy to report that with the exception of about 45 minutes between Rawlins and Laramie it was "fun" for some.

We calculated when our travels were all completed we had been in and through 9 states.  (Arizona, Nevada -- had to go Las Vegas way due to snow in Flagstaff-- Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and finally Michigan.)
Boy there is a lot of corn grown in the midwestern states.
Thank you farmers!

Saw this in Nebraska.  Couldn't resist.

We stayed a second night in Des Moines, Iowa and on Sunday, February 25th, we ended up in Lansing, Michigan.
