Driving into the state of Michigan was "pure" joy and relief. We had heard such horror stories about the snow, but we pulled in on a day when it was 50+ degrees. Where's all the snow? Look at the blue skies. We can see that Michigan is beautiful and in a couple of months it will become green everywhere.
We spent the night in a hotel in Lansing, and having communicated with our Mission President, President Peckham, he asked that we have breakfast with he and is wife the next morning at the Mission Home. They are down home and wonderful people from Idaho where they own a farm. After breakfast, we followed them to the Mission Office a couple of miles away and were introduced to everyone serving in the office.
We were already on the "new arrival" board! Bottom left.
Took a picture of the mission boundaries itself.
Lake Michigan on the west (left) and Lake Huron on the Northeast (right). We are assigned to the top of the "mitten," but not across the Mackinaw Bridge to the "Upper Peninsula."
