First, we are so thankful for this beautiful country in which we live. To be honest, we live in a bit of a bubble as we do not watch or ask about what is going on right now since we are focused on our missionary purpose. As a matter of fact, when we were in the Missionary Training Center in Provo in February we were encouraged to refrain from any political conversations. "I know nothing about politics." That being said, we do see headlines that come across our phone feeds and know, sadly, there is so much contention and dishonesty everywhere. This gives us an even greater desire to reach out to people and invite them to come unto Jesus Christ. He is the only true answer to all the troubles in this world. We know He will come again and hope to help our family and friends prepare to meet Him in that joyful day.

Saturday, we headed back to the Detroit Temple with Arthur and Sheree Woollard who were able to go to the temple for the first time. They were baptized less than a month ago. They have already said several times how much happier they are and that their marriage has improved as well. That is the joy the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings. After we were done in Detroit, we headed to Lansing to have lunch with our Mission President and his wife. Such a blessed day.
Notice that Arthur (on his own) decided to shave his beard and hair!

Let us introduce you to some of the people here that we see doing their very best to turn their hearts, and others, to Christ...
On Tuesday we headed back across the Mackinac Bridge to the first little town there called St. Ignace. It's a town of only about 2,300 people and borders Lake Huron. We were there to inspect one missionary companionship's apartment. Meet Elder Loar and Elder Kiene who walk the streets, knock on doors and bear testimony of Christ. And sometimes, they play basketball and injure an ankle. Oops.
It's a beautiful place.
Meet Sister Gotz, a member of our Branch, who LOVES everyone. She spreads the love of Christ wherever she goes, even if she doesn't know you (like at Walmart, where we have seen her) she gives hugs and expresses love. She lives on Mullett Lake and asked us to come join her for lunch on her pontoon boat. We sat at the dock in the wind and laughed and enjoyed ourselves. She and her husband have listed their property for sale. Anyone want to move to Michigan?
The Elders were invited and joined us as well and there is never a dull moment when they are around.
Notice that Arthur (on his own) decided to shave his beard and hair!
Arthur and Sheree are "all in," They regularly invite their family to join them at church. For the past three weeks they have had three grandsons meeting with missionaries and coming to church. By the way, this week we had about 70 people at church! They get summer visitors up here and there were about 35 this week. We also had 5 "friends" attend with us. It just so happened that it was my turn to give a talk.
Their grandsons didn't have white shirts and ties (which are not required.) In order to help them feel comfortable, we bought each of them one to wear.

We share these words from The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Christ. Alma 26:16
"...who can say too much of His great power, and of His mercy, and of His long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel."
He lives! We love Him and He loves each of us and we love you all.
